    • This privacy policy notice applies to ufs-coalition.org and any other Sustainable and Inclusive Urban Food Systems Coalition – “The UFS Coalition” forms, or services, in addition to any event organized by the UFS Coalition or general interactions with the UFS Coalition or its representatives. Together with the user agreements that the UFS Coalition website, events, or services might have, this privacy policy governs the UFS Coalition´s data collection and use.
    • For the purpose of the EU 2016 General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”), the UFS Coalition acts as data controller.
    • The UFS Coalition does not have any responsibility on how other platforms and websites outside of the UFS Coalition´s controlled websites, use and share users´ personal information, even if those platforms / websites have a link on or from the UFS Coalition website. It is the responsibility of the users to check in each specific case if other websites provide a safe environment for their personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

    • The UFS Coalition website might collect internet Cookies from all its users.     • The UFS Coalition may collect, through the submit process indicated In the “Get Involved” page, through the registration to one of its newsletters, through the registration to one of its virtual events and webinars, through the registration and/or participation to an UFS Coalition in-person event, through personal communication with the UFS Coalition Members or one of its representatives, and through any services that the UFS Coalition provides, the following personal information:

    • In case of registration on a website, an identification number is assigned to register users. This user id can help track any changes requested by the user when submitting data on one of our website which allows uploading.
    • Virtual events organized by the UFS Coalition are hosted on third parties platform. All interaction with these platforms in the context of a virtual event organized will be covered by the privacy policy of the said platform.
    • In the case of communication by email with the UFS Coalition, your personal information will be collected to enable you to deliver the services you have requested.

    • Personal data are used exclusively for the legitimate purpose for which they were collected (services provided by the UFS Coalition, newsletter, in-person and virtual events and webinars, communication with the UFS Coalition) or for the good functioning of the website.       • At global level: Support local and regional governments to engage in global policy debates,
      • At national, local and regional levels: Support national, local and regional governments in meaningfully engaging with one another with the aim of harmonizing policies and programs related to food systems.

The UFS Coalition aspires to achieve the following:

  • Creation of a space for dialogue among stakeholders for urban food systems transformation;
  • Leveraging and facilitation of knowledge/experience exchange for evidence-based policy design and implementation;
  • Continued inclusion of various sectors beyond governments at different levels,
  • Leveraging resources to support the capacities of urban administrations to integrate food systems into urban policies, planning and investments.

Therefore, the UFS Coalition uses your personal data to communicate with you in the context of the following activities:

  1. Mobilize and support local and regional governments to engage in global policy debates;
  2. Mobilize and support national, local and regional governments in meaningfully engaging with one another with the aim of harmonizing policies and programs related to food systems;
  3. Create a space for dialogue among stakeholders at all levels;
  4. Leverage and facilitate knowledge/experience exchange among key stakeholders;
  5. Facilitate the production, management and distribution of appropriate data for evidence-based policy design and implementation;
  6. Promote continued inclusion of various sectors beyond governments at different levels;
  7. Mobilize and leverage human and financial resources to support the capacities of urban administrations to integrate food systems into urban policies, planning and investments.

In the context of the above missions, the UFS Coalition might also transfer your personal data to its partners and donors.

  • The UFS Coalition will never use your personal data for any commercial use.
  • The UFS Coalition will not place your personal data on any mailing list that you do not opt-in to.

    The UFS Coalition does not use or disclose your personal data without your explicit consent, except for the following situations:

    • In good faith, when disclosure is made necessary to protect the UFS Coalition ´s right of property, and/or the personal safety of its users or the public.

    • Personal Data are stored in the servers of ICLEI e.V., based in Germany, and are therefore subject to the German Federal Law on Personal Data (“Bundesdatenschutzgesetz”), as currently amended, and to the 2016 EU General Data Protection Regulation.
    • ICLEI e.V. will hold your personal data on its servers for as long as needed to achieve its legitimate purposes. The appropriate duration of retention of personal data is determined by this, as well as, by their nature and sensitivity, also considering an assessment of the risk of unauthorized use or disclosure of those personal data. ICLEI e.V. will automatically delete all data which is no longer considered relevant for its purposes.
    • ICLEI e.V. is committed to the security of your data and consequently takes all appropriate measures to prevent the loss of your data or access without authorization. Access to personal data is strictly restricted to a limited number of ICLEI staffs which are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
    • In the unlikely event of a data security breach, ICLEI e.V. will promptly notify you and take all the necessary measures to protect your data.
